In its most recent Enterprise IoT Platform report, which was released in September 2021, GlobalData ranked Microsoft and AWS as "Very Strong" vendors. Several significant platform enhancements have been announced by both vendors in the past six months. The IOT portfolios of these vendors were enhanced by new tools for access control, edge computing, visualization, and Digital Twins. Additionally, Microsoft's new LoRa Alliance board position was a significant addition to the ecosystem.
Enterprise IoT Marketplatforms help customers build applications that automate processes, improve products, and assist business leaders in making decisions by transforming data gathered from machines and devices. The platform offers options for data storage, processing, management, and manipulation as well as filtering and visualization after data is collected. For further processing and analysis, the platform may send data to an edge computing device, a public or private cloud, or a remote data center.
Tools for application enablement are also provided by an enterprise IoT platform; Visual application modeling, design tools, business logic-based processing rules, security and access management, reporting, and real-time or historical analytics are examples of elements.
